TPM Stop Reason Configuration

TPM Stop Reason Configuration object enable the user to configure custom reasons for equipment stops. Equipment stops can be unintended, i.e. 'not scheduled', and therefore affect the OEE Indices, while scheduled stops do not affect the OEE.

Use Cases

  • Set Built-in Stop Reasons (which are Not scheduled Stops by default) as scheduled stops

  • Configure Custom Stop Reas ons

  • Configure Translations for Stop Reasons

For step-by-step configuration instructions see the TPM Stop Reason Configuration in the OEE Jumpstart.

Quick Configuration

  1. To create a new TPM Stop Reason Configuration object in the ISA-95 Equipment Model, right-click on the site, area or cell object for which you want to configure theStop Reasons and select Admin  New  TPM  Stop Reason Configuration from the context menu.

  2. In the Create Object wizard, give the new object an Object Name.

  3. Click Create to close the wizard and create the object.

Setting Built-in Stop Reasons as Scheduled Stops

By default, all built-in Stop Reasons are treated as unscheduled stops, which affect the OEE Calculations. To overwrite this behavior …

  1. Click on the Stop Reason Configuration object in the ISA-95 Equipment Model and go to the Property Panel.

  2. In the Common section, click on the table icon to open the Table Property Grid for the Stop Reason Configuration property.

  3. In the Stop Reason Configuration table, add a new line by clicking on the + icon and select the reason from the drop down list in the 'Stop Reason' column. If equipment stops due to this reason should not affect the OEE calculation, mark the checkbox in the 'Is Scheduled Stop' column.

  4. When you are done, click OK to close the table.

Custom Stop Reason Configuration

  1. Click on the Stop Reason Configuration object in the ISA-95 Equipment Model and go to the Property Panel.

  2. In the Common section, click on the table icon to open the Table Property Grid for the Custom Stop Reason Configuration property.

  3. In the Custom Stop Reason Configuration table, add a new line by clicking on the + icon. For the functionality of the individual columns, see the following table:

Table 1. Custom Stop Reason Configuration Columns
Column Name Functionality

Custom Stop Reason ID

the ID as which this Stop Reason will be displayed in the Custom Reason Reference colum of the Failures OEE output object

Parent Stop Reason

select the appropriate parent stop reason category

Is Scheduled Stop

mark the checkbox if stops due to this reason are scheduled and therefore not to be taken into account for OEE calculations

Custom Stop Reason

the name of this reason

Comment

comment on this reason according to your needs

Is Deleted

instead of actually deleting the entry from the table, select this checkbox (see the warning below)

Custom Attribute 1 .. 3

can be set for filtering in Stop Reason Filter Options properties section of TPM OEE Equipment Monitor objects

Deleting a Custom Stop Reason might affect the OEE Calculation for historical Data! So don’t delete rows from this table unless you are sure that this Reason was never applied to OEE calculation. Instead, for Stop Reasons which you want to remove, select the checkbox in the 'Is Deleted' column. Reasons with this checkbox selected will no longer be applied or displayed in any other place but will still be taken into account for the calculation of OEE for data which was generated while this reason was active.

Translations

Translations into multiple languages can be configured for Stop Reason Ranges, individual built-in Stop Reasons and Custom Stop Reasons.

Regarding the configuration of translations see Translating Stop Reasons in the OEE Jumpstart.
