OEE and the KPI Model

OEE calculation being equipment-related is implemented as part of the ISA-95 model. This page addresses how the resulting OEE indices can easily be represented in the KPI Model.

Automatic KPI Integration

Site objects in the ISA-95 Model can be configured to automatically make their subtree accessible via the KPI Model.

To prepare for this, you need to create a Root Node in the KPI Model for the Site subtree. So right click into the empty area in the KPI Model Panel and select New  Enterprise.

Give the new object as suitable name, then click Create.

The KPI Model will now show the newly created Enterprise object.

Next, go to the ISA-95 Model, open the Properties Panel for the Site object in the Common section and click the … button for the KPI Root Node property.

In the Edit KPI Root Node dialog, set Scope to 'KPI Model'.

Then select the object which you created previously in the KPI Model as the Root Node.

Click OK to confirm your selection and close the Edit KPI Root Node dialog.

Then click Apply for the properties.

Now, as long as the path to the KPI Root Node is set, OEE indices are made available via the KPI Model.

When applying a new path as KPI Root Note for the first time, a new tree structure is created in the KPI Model, representing the Site subtree from the ISA-95 Model. The OEE Equipment Monitor object isn’t created since it is neither a KPI object nor a structural element.

Removing the path from the KPI Root Node will prevent the current OEE data from being accessible via the KPI Model but will not remove the objects which have been generated there.

KPI in VisualKPI

In Visual KPI the inmation KPI Model is displayed in the KPIs section.

When the Automatic KPI Integration is used, the OEE indices will also be displayed in Visual KPI.
